Evergreen Golf Club
About Evergreen Golf Club
Evergreen Golf Club in Rangeley grew out of a practice facility rather than a master plan. Its founder, who came from a golf family — his father was a long-time PGA professional in Connecticut and his mother an LPGA professional — returned to Maine in the early 1990s with his father's golf equipment after the family had purchased an inn and restaurant in the area.
He began by building a scenic driving range and practice area along with the George Buck Golf School, then added two holes for lessons and practice. That pair of holes kept expanding into the course that exists today.

Each hole is set up with five separate tee boxes, all playing differently, so the layout can be stretched or shortened depending on the player. The greens are multilevel with pronounced breaks. The club draws a mix of club members of average ability and stronger local players, and instruction remains part of the operation.
