About Lake Kezar Country Club
Lake Kezar Country Club sits in western Maine, a short drive from the Mt. Washington Valley area of North Conway, New Hampshire. Built in 1923 after several summer camp owners saw a need for golf to occupy seasonal visitors, it ranks among the oldest courses in the state. The original layout was designed by Donald Ross, the architect behind Pinehurst No. 2, whose emphasis on natural character shows in the tall pines, stone walls, brooks and flower plantings around the holes. A back nine was added in 1998 and blends with the older front side.

The course plays from four sets of tees over mown fairways to well-kept greens. Ross's design rewards the bump-and-run approach, since trouble lies behind several greens. Modest in length but testing, it remains an easily walkable layout.
