Lucerne Golf Club is a public course set along Route 1A, the Bar Harbor Road, between Bangor and Ellsworth in Dedham, Maine. The layout is a classic Donald Ross design, and its elevated setting is known for wide views, particularly in the evening light.
Ross, one of the formative figures in American course architecture, had a hand in the design of roughly four hundred courses during his career. He also competed as a player, appearing in the U.S. Open on several occasions and in the British Open once.
