Great Hope Golf Course
About Great Hope Golf Course
Great Hope Golf Course opened in 1995 and takes its name from one of the skipjacks once sailed by local watermen dredging oysters on the Chesapeake. The layout was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, whose credits also include Erin Hills, host of the 2017 U.S. Open.
The 18-hole links-style course sits in the heart of Somerset County, less than an hour from the beaches of Ocean City and Chincoteague. More than 200 acres of wetlands and wooded ground frame the holes, and four sets of tees allow golfers of differing abilities to find a suitable test.
