Mellomar Golf Park

Mellomar Golf Park in Owings sits in Calvert County and caters to golfers of all ages with several different practice and playing areas on one property.

The facility includes a nine-hole executive course and a separate nine-hole par-3 course, the latter offering a challenge of its own while serving as a useful setting for building short-game skills. A driving range rounds out the practice options.

Junior development is a focus here through the Rookery Pursuit Junior Golf league. The program opens with a clinic covering etiquette, scorekeeping, ball mark repair and basic rules such as playing a ball out of bounds and taking penalty drops. Participants are placed on teams, assigned a tee box color based on a skills assessment, and introduced to the formats they will play during the season, including stroke play and scrambles.
