About PB Dye Golf Club
P.B. Dye Golf Club opened in 1999 on 250 acres of rolling hills and woodland about 30 minutes from the Capital Beltway, with the routing carved through the terrain to give a secluded feel.
The layout shows the architect's trademarks: rolling fairways framed by mounds and moguls, multilevel greens, five sets of deeply terraced tees, deep pot bunkers, railroad-tie edging around tees and greens, rock sculptures, and greens that range from very large to very small. An island green sits at the 2nd hole, water comes into play on four holes, and ten more call for shots over small streams and valleys, along with several blind tee shots.

The course appears fairly open from the tee but places a premium on accurate approach play, with large, heavily contoured putting surfaces. Turf is bent grass from tee to green, including Penn G-2 greens, and closely mown collection areas surround the large greens.
