About Cattail Creek Country Club
Cattail Creek Country Club is a private club set in the community of Cattail Creek in Glenwood, Maryland, with year-round social activities for members of all ages.
The club traces its origins to October 1988, when a group of 46 Howard County residents with a shared interest in golf came together to found it. Atlanta-based architect Willard Byrd, whose portfolio already included more than 100 courses, was engaged to design the course and to help identify a suitable site. In 1990 the group acquired the 168-acre Cattail property, selected largely for its rolling rural terrain and abundant water resources.

Construction began in September 1991 with contractors from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, backed by 130 founding members. The course opened for play in the first week of July 1993, under golf course superintendent Kevin Pryseski and with volunteer help from many early members.
