About The Timbers At Troy
The Timbers at Troy is a public golf course in Elkridge, set across 206 acres of rolling hills, mature woodland and winding streams in the Greater Baltimore area. The course features extensive bunkering and bentgrass from tee to green.
A renovation carried out during the winter of 2016–2017 added Billy Bunker sand traps, a new irrigation system, new cart paths and improvements to the clubhouse.
The land carries a long history, having been granted to the Dorsey family by Lord Baltimore in 1664 and later known as Troy Hill. Members of the family held official posts in 17th-century America and led the Elkridge Militia during the Revolutionary War.

The opening hole is a demanding par 4, with bunkers to the right of the fairway and woods along the left. Most players face an approach of roughly 150 to 200 yards into a deep, well-bunkered green with multiple plateaus, while longer hitters play a downhill wedge.
