Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links

Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links takes its name from the peninsula of land reaching into the bay behind the sixteenth tee, and the property carries a long history. Local lore holds that between 1696 and 1717 the pirate captains Kidd and Blackbeard sheltered behind the barrier islands of Assateague, bringing goods ashore from the waters of Sinepuxent Bay.

No buried treasure turned up when the course was built, but extensive archaeological study documented centuries of activity on the site, including traces of seven Native American cultures found at several spots. Large shell middens remain preserved in the wooded ground to the right of the 12th hole and along the creek to the right of the 15th.
