About Walpole Country Club
Walpole Country Club dates to 1927, when it began as a nine-hole layout situated across Washington Street from the club's present home on Baker Street.
The current 18-hole course was designed by Al Zikorus and opened for play in 1974 on land that was formerly the Allen family farm. The Allens, members of the club, donated the property with the condition that it never be used for any purpose other than golf.
In 1994 the club engaged architect Ron Forse to prepare a master plan for the course. The work carried out since then has adjusted the challenge for stronger players while keeping the layout playable for a range of abilities, and has also reshaped the course's appearance.
