About Wampanoag Golf Course
Wampanoag Golf Course dates to the late 1920s, when it was built by Algernon Barney. It sits along the Palmer River in the historic Barneyville section of Swansea, Massachusetts, an area once known for shipbuilding, where some 200 vessels — including gunboats, whalers and merchant ships — were constructed over a span of 79 years.
The nine-hole layout follows a links-style design, with open fairways and small greens.
