Unicorn Golf Course
About Unicorn Golf Course
Unicorn Golf Course dates to 1928, when the Boston Athletic Association built an 18-hole private course designed by the architectural firm of Stiles and Van Kleek, with holes spread across land in both Stoneham and Woburn. In 1972 the town of Stoneham bought the portion within its borders and reworked the layout into the nine-hole municipal course played today.
The course runs over hilltop terrain, with some holes sitting in the open and others framed by mature oaks along the fairways. Conditioning features bent grass greens, tight fairways, and manageable rough and bunkering, making the layout approachable for a range of skill levels.
