Bass River Golf Course
About Bass River Golf Course
Bass River Golf Course in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, dates to 1900 and was redesigned and expanded by architect Donald Ross in 1914. The 18-hole layout is marked by wide fairways, small greens and views over Bass River, and plays 6,138 yards from the back tees, with multiple tee sets to suit a range of abilities.
The signature ninth is a 169-yard par 3 that carries over marshland to an elevated green. Other notable holes include a 258-yard par 4 that climbs uphill to a small green, with a hazard along the right side and a bunker guarding the left approach, and a 406-yard par 4 whose broad fairway falls away sharply into a valley before rising to a wide green, where an approach left short can roll back to the bottom.
