Furnace Brook Golf Club
About Furnace Brook Golf Club
Furnace Brook Golf Club in Quincy dates to 1923, when Wayne Stiles laid out an 18-hole course that opened as the Stoney Brae Golf Club. During the 1950s a portion of the land was sold for housing, and the club was reconfigured into the nine-hole layout in play today. Golfers completing two circuits face a par 70 measuring roughly 6,000 yards from the black tees.
The opening hole carries a notable piece of golf history: on September 4, 1949, Marie Robie holed her tee shot from 393 yards, the longest hole-in-one recorded by a woman.
