Highland Links

Highland Links sits on windswept bluffs above the Atlantic in North Truro, beside the historic Highland Light. Founded in the 1890s, it is among Cape Cod's oldest courses and remains a genuine links, with deep natural rough, Scotch broom, heath and wide ocean views.

The course began as part of an ocean and cottage resort run by the Small family of Truro, advertised at roughly 2,000 yards around. It was first laid out by Willard Small, redesigned in 1913 by hotel guest J. Henry McKinley, and refurbished again by owner Hal Conklin by 1955. Francis Ouimet, the 1913 U.S. Open champion, played an exhibition round here after the original sand greens were converted to grass.
