Reservation Golf and Beach Club
About Reservation Golf and Beach Club
The Reservation Golf & Beach Club is a private club in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, with a long history tied to the land at the head of the harbor near the mouth of the Mattapoisett River.
In 1887 Charles King acquired property in the area and built a large summer residence called the Reservation, a name drawn from the site's earlier use as a favored camping ground of the Wampanoag people. King, a golfer himself, laid out a course on the grounds that remains in play today, and the club has carried the Reservation name ever since.
