Cape Cod Country Club
About Cape Cod Country Club
Cape Cod Country Club opened in 1928 as a nine-hole layout known as Coonamesset, taking its name from a nearby inn. The original design came from Devereux Emmet and Alfred H. Tull, the architects behind Wee Burn Country Club in Connecticut and the Old Congressional Country Club near Washington, D.C.
The course was reportedly redesigned and expanded to 18 holes the following year by architect Donald Ross, though no documentation of his involvement has ever been located, and the Friel family, who searched for records, acknowledges there is no firm evidence.

The property changed names several times over the decades, operating briefly as the Treadway Inn in the 1950s and as Clausen's during the 1960s. It took on the Cape Cod Country Club name in 1977.
