Ocean Edge Golf Club
About Ocean Edge Golf Club
Ocean Edge Golf Club is part of a 429-acre resort on Cape Cod Bay in Brewster, Massachusetts, with golf and other recreation such as kayaking available on the property. Accommodations are divided between The Mansion, a Victorian building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and The Villages, a cluster of villas set close to the golf and waterfront activities.
The estate dates to the late 1800s, when Samuel Mayo Nickerson, a Chatham native married to Matilda Crosby of Brewster, built it as a summer home for their eldest son, Roland. The original buildings included a Victorian mansion known as Fieldstone Hall and a Tudor-style stable on a rise overlooking Cape Cod Bay. The property served for years as the Nickerson family's summer retreat and a gathering place for social events, and it is now a member of Historic Hotels of America.
