About Atchafalaya Golf Course
Atchafalaya Golf Course opened in 2006 in Patterson, Louisiana, laid out by the design team of Von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, whose other work includes Doral, LaCosta and the TPC at The Woodlands. The routing makes use of dramatic changes in elevation and opens up wide views across the Atchafalaya Basin.
Each of the 18 championship holes carries the name of a cultural feature associated with the Basin, where more than 40 species of native plants grow. The course is playable for a range of skill levels and is known for its large putting surfaces, among them a shared "common green" served by both the 9th and 18th holes, situated in view of the clubhouse. The property also accommodates golf getaways and corporate outings.
