About Lakewood Golf Club
Lakewood Golf Club is an 18-hole course in New Orleans measuring 7,002 yards and playing to a par of 72. A redesign by architect Ron Garl retained the layout's original character while rebuilding the fairways, tee boxes and greens, with new fairway contouring and distinctive bunkering added to shape strategy around the course.
The most unusual feature is the 444-yard closing hole, known as "Fire in the Hole," where the bunkers are shaped like flames and filled with red sand as a tribute to New Orleans firefighters.
The property also includes a practice facility for work on the short game.
