City Park Golf Course
About City Park Golf Course
City Park Golf Course opened in 1926 as Baton Rouge's first municipal course, laid out by architect Tom Bendelow. It is among a small number of golf courses listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The nine-hole layout covers roughly 40 acres and is marked by mature oaks, lake views, a small bayou and elevation changes of as much as 25 feet — unusual terrain for south Louisiana.
A 2007 renovation left the course with four par 3s and five par 4s, a configuration suited to a short round or league play. The clubhouse holds a small pro shop stocked with golf supplies and also houses the Baton Rouge Art Gallery.
