About Gibson Bay Golf Course
Gibson Bay Golf Course is a public layout in Richmond, Kentucky, designed by Michael Hurdzan and opened in 1993. The par-72 course stretches to roughly 7,100 yards and sits within the 450-acre Lake Reba recreational complex.
Up to five sets of tees on each hole allow the course to be played at a range of lengths, and the tees, fairways and greens are all planted with bent grass. The long, open design leaves room off the tee but exposes play to the wind, and errant drives often leave side-hill lies and awkward approaches. Several greens are cut into hillsides and guarded by bunkers and mounding.
