About Wildwood Country Club
Wildwood Country Club traces its origins to 1952, when Robert P. Minton, Jr. proposed the idea of a new golf and country club to his father, Robert P. Minton, Sr., who in turn brought Raymond Bischoff into the project. In February of that year, Mr. and Mrs. Bischoff arranged the purchase of the site from Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Fischer.
The chosen property sat at the southeast corner of Bardstown Road and Watterson Trail in Louisville. Known as Wildwood Farm, the 177-acre tract had been home to thoroughbred Hereford cattle, with bluegrass sod covering roughly 70 percent of its rich soil.

Fern Creek runs through the property, and the rolling ground on either side of it is lined with mature trees along the banks, giving the club its wooded, undulating character.
