About Lindsey Golf Course
Lindsey Golf Course sits on the Fort Knox Army installation, off Bullion Blvd. The course was built in 1933 and takes its name from MG Julian R. Lindsey, who played a central role in its layout and design.
In 1943 the course hosted the Kentucky State Open, won by PGA great Byron Nelson with a score of 236 (8 under par).
The surrounding installation is also home to the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor and the United States Department of the Treasury Bullion Depository, which is not open for tours. The course accommodates military team-building outings, retired military golfers, corporate events, family reunions and stay-and-play visits. Out of bounds is marked by white lines or stakes, as well as the roads, walls, fences and parking lots along the course boundary.
