Bellefonte Country Club
About Bellefonte Country Club
Bellefonte Country Club is a private club in Ashland, Kentucky, incorporated and officially recorded in 1921. Its nine-hole golf course was laid out by Willie Park, a noted architect of the era who won the British Open twice; his father claimed the same title four times.
The land beneath the club traces back to the Means & Russell Iron Company, which acquired much of the ground between Bellefonte Furnace and Grayson, harvesting timber for fuel before selling parcels off. The company left the iron business in 1900 and turned to land development.
Alongside golf, the club serves as a social center for members and their families, with sports, dining and social activities.
