Osawatomie Golf Course
About Osawatomie Golf Course
Osawatomie Golf Course is a parkland layout made up of two contrasting nines. The front nine, built in 1941, places the emphasis on accurate approach shots into small, gently sloping greens. The back nine, added in 1972, features larger, undulating putting surfaces that ask more of a player's short game, giving the course a varied test across 18 holes.
The greens are bentgrass, and the fairways are zoysia following a recent renovation. After a pump failure affected the putting surfaces, the greens were assessed, fertilized over several months to strengthen rooting, and re-seeded, with sodding used on the 4th hole. The City of Osawatomie also completed a full re-wiring of the irrigation system. The course sits a short drive from the greater Kansas City area.
