Christmas Lake Golf Club
About Christmas Lake Golf Club
Christmas Lake Golf Club is a public course set in the Southern Indiana countryside, where tree-lined fairways wind through rolling hills, valleys and lakes. Tees and fairways are Zoysia grass, the greens are bent grass, and five sets of tees accommodate a range of abilities.
The layout was designed in 1967 by golf course architect Edmund Ault, whose other work includes the Tournament Players Course at Avenel in Potomac, Maryland, and a remodeling of Congressional Country Club. Ault gave the two nines distinctly different characters: the front nine plays relatively flat with a single dogleg, while the back nine is considerably hillier and more enclosed, giving the round the feel of two separate courses and calling for a change of strategy at the turn.
