South Grove Golf Course

South Grove Golf Course dates to 1902 and was laid out by local architect Harry Schopp, who also designed Pleasant Run and Sarah Shank. The course takes its name from the stand of trees bordering the southern edge of the property.

The terrain is largely flat, though the routing makes use of gently rolling ground and elevated plateaus for several tee and green sites, and the fairways are narrow and lined with trees. Sitting about two miles from downtown, the course looks out toward the Indianapolis skyline.

Over the years South Grove has been the site of numerous city amateur tournaments, including the South Grove Spring Four-Ball, an event first played in 1948.
