About Maplecrest Country Club
Maplecrest Country Club traces its origins to 1960, when area golf professional Don Perri came across the Holderman farm on Hackett Road north of Goshen and saw in it the makings of a golf course. He secured a 30-day option on the acreage, brought in an agronomist to assess the land, and presented his plans to friends. Amzie Miller and M. C. Cripe were the first to back the project, both in spirit and with funding.

Over the following months the three men canvassed the community for prospective members, working against local doubt that a course would ever be built in Goshen. Their recruiting succeeded, the land was purchased, and the club was incorporated in April 1960, with adjoining acreage known as the Wills property added soon after. Perri went on to serve as the club's first golf professional.
