Timber Ridge Golf Course
About Timber Ridge Golf Course
Timber Ridge Golf Course in Bluffton occupies the grounds of the former Parlor City Country Club, which operated from 1924 until 2004. The club's closing followed a broader decline in the golf industry during the mid-2000s, along with an aging membership and an oversized clubhouse. The course is privately owned and operated by Bruce Imel, who serves as owner and resident professional and has been connected with the property for more than 50 years.

The layout is built around risk-and-reward decisions rather than wide-open driving lines, rewarding shot placement and course management over raw distance. Players who drive the ball well can find scoring chances, but each tee shot calls for some thought.
Instruction is offered through the Imel Group Golf Academy, which uses the Operation 36 development program as part of the course's effort to bring new players into the game.
