About Zigfield Troy Par 3 Golf Course
The Troy family's involvement in Chicagoland golf stretches back more than 75 years, beginning when Zigfield Troy opened his first driving range in Marquette Park at the age of 19. The son of Lithuanian immigrants, he first encountered the game as a caddie, working to help support his family during the Great Depression.
Troy went on to develop the Sheldon Heights Golf Range at 115th and Halsted, running it for 38 years before relocating the operation to Woodridge in 1976 as the Zigfield Troy Golf Range. In 1980 he fulfilled a longstanding ambition by co-designing and building the par-3 course that sits alongside the range, a short layout that asks for accurate iron play.
