About St. Andrews Golf and Country Club
The St. Andrews course was designed and built in 1926 by John McGregor of the Chicago Golf Club. It plays across flat terrain and features large contoured greens, finishing with a par 4 that has a water hazard running down the right side of the fairway.
The layout's par 3s and par 4s present challenges for players of all abilities, notably the 2nd, a long par 4 of 448 yards ringed by large greenside bunkers. From the championship tees the course measures 6,920 yards, asking for calculated shot selection around strategically placed sand bunkers and the trees lining its tighter dogleg holes.

Architects Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore of Atlanta made modifications over the years to update the course to modern standards, while the integrity of McGregor's original design remains intact.
