About Glen Flora Country Club
Glen Flora Country Club traces its origins to the incorporation of Waukegan Country Club, which stood among roughly the first 25 golf clubs established in the Chicago area.
Its original nine-hole course sat just west of the club's present ground along Golf Road, immediately beside the Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee railroad line. The layout was the work of Herbert Tweedie, an influential early figure in American golf who laid out many of the country's first courses and worked alongside C.B. Macdonald to help establish the game in the Chicago region. That early nine measured 2,700 yards and played to a par of 46.
