Blackstone Golf Club winds through more than 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands in Marengo, with bentgrass fairways and greens routed across varied natural terrain. The course plays to 6,727 yards from the back tees, with four sets of tees bringing it down to 4,893 yards at its shortest.
Designer Bob Lohmann shaped 54 strategically placed sand bunkers with bold, irregular edges, while keeping the fairway corridors wide so that mid- and high-handicap players can steer clear of trouble. Wetlands come into play on 13 holes, and nine holes run through dense stands of hickory and oak, giving the layout both scenery and a measure of difficulty.
