Hilldale Golf Club
About Hilldale Golf Club
Hilldale Golf Club opened in 1970 in Hoffman Estates, about twenty minutes west of O'Hare International Airport. The land it occupies was once a sportsman's club owned by the retailer Marshall Field, giving the relatively modern course a tie to Chicago's golf history.
The 18-hole layout was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and is his only 18-hole course in Northern Illinois. Jones practiced for nearly seven decades, creating more than 350 courses and remodeling over 150 others across forty-five states and thirty-five countries, and was known for shaping raw terrain into demanding but attractive tests of golf.
