Stonewall Orchard Golf Club in Grayslake is an 18-hole public course designed by architect Arthur Hills, his first layout in Illinois. The routing follows the natural contours of the Lake County property, with the rolling landscape shaping the holes rather than the other way around.
More than 65,000 mature pine and oak trees frame the course, which also takes in rolling hills, quiet wetlands and resident wildlife, giving the property a character often compared to golf in the Carolinas.

The championship tees stretch to 7,124 yards at par 72, while a junior short course plays 4,968 yards, so each hole presents a distinct test across a range of skill levels. The club has hosted U.S. Open qualifiers, Illinois PGA Professional Championships and, on six occasions, a Korn Ferry Tour qualifier, and offers a country-club setting in a relaxed, open-to-the-public atmosphere.
