Lake Bracken Country Club

Lake Bracken Country Club sits among mature stands of oak and hickory in Galesburg, Illinois, where rolling hills and wooded bluffs shape the setting. The grounds have been in use for roughly a century and retain their wooded character.

The club manages Lake Bracken itself, a 172-acre reservoir in Knox County created in 1921 when Brush Creek was dammed. The lake lies within the Spoon River drainage basin and was originally built by the CB&Q railroad, later Burlington Northern, to supply water to its shops and yards in Galesburg for steam locomotives and other equipment requiring large volumes of water.
