Golfmohr Golf Club occupies land in East Moline with a long agricultural history. The Mohr family established a farm on the site in 1867, and descendants still live on properties next to the course and the original homestead.
The property's past includes two coal mines that once operated here; a capped mineshaft remains behind the 14th tee. An apple orchard formerly stood on the ground now occupied by the 8th and 9th fairways, and 50 apple trees have since been planted on the course as a nod to that chapter of its history.
