Lost Nation Golf Course is an 18-hole public course set among forestland near Dixon and Oregon, Illinois, roughly 75 minutes west of the Chicago area. It was built in the mid-1960s as a private course serving the neighboring Lost Nation Woodland Homesteads community, now known as Lost Lake, and opened to public play in the 1970s.
The layout is known for large, undulating greens that reward well-planned approach shots. The opening hole is a 532-yard par 5 that doglegs left, with a tree in the middle of the fairway pushing drives to the left side and another tree short and left of the green complicating approaches from the right rough; the green slopes from back to front.
Facilities include a pro shop, a practice putting green, a small short- and mid-range practice area, and a bar and grille with an outdoor deck overlooking the first and fifth tees.
