About Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course
Built on land reclaimed from Lake Michigan, this nine-hole course opened in 1932 as Waveland Golf Course and was renamed Sydney R. Marovitz in 1991. It occupies a narrow lakefront strip between Lake Shore Drive and the shoreline.
All nine holes run parallel to the water, giving views of the lake, several harbors and the downtown Chicago skyline. Mature trees, greens in good condition and an ongoing renovation of the sand bunkers present a test for players of varying ability.
