About Barrington Hills Country Club
Barrington Hills Country Club marked its centennial in 2021, having been established as part of the Barrington community a century earlier. Its origins trace to Harry Stilson Hart, an industrialist who assembled roughly 220 acres of open land about a mile west of Barrington and gathered fellow sportsmen for golf at his summer retreat outside Chicago.
The club's history has been chronicled in A Club in the Country: The Story of Barrington Hills Country Club, written by Patty Dowd Schmitz.
