Shady Oaks Country Club opened in 1961 as a nine-hole layout and was expanded to 18 holes in 1996. Set in the Lee County countryside on land once used as cow pasture, the course is quiet and secluded, with no houses in view. Play winds among trees and native prairie grasses, and wildlife is common along the way. The course is open to the public, and private events and outings are also accommodated.
The clubhouse carries apparel and merchandise and includes a full bar serving pizza, burgers, hot dogs, brats, Polish sausages, snacks and beverages. An outdoor patio overlooks the course and surrounding property.
Junior clubs are available at no cost for children playing the course, and children 13 and under play free when accompanied by a paying adult or member.
