Blackfoot Golf Course

Blackfoot Golf Course was designed by George Von Elm, who also served as the club's golf professional from 1957 to 1960.

Von Elm was one of the leading amateur players of the 1920s, a period often regarded as the height of amateur competition. His matches against Bobby Jones became part of golf lore, beginning in 1924 when he reached the final of the U.S. Amateur and finished runner-up to Jones. Jones knocked him out in the semifinals the following year, but in 1926 Von Elm turned the tables, beating Jones to claim the U.S. Amateur title — the only loss Jones suffered in that championship across a five-year stretch.
