Buena Vista University Golf Course at Lake Creek

Located in Storm Lake, Iowa, the Buena Vista University Golf Course at Lake Creek is laid out with tree lines and out-of-bounds stakes framing several of its fairways, so accuracy from the tee carries real weight.

Two holes on the front nine, the third and another nearby, stand out as the stretch's pivotal tests. Both ask for a well-placed drive, often with a fairway wood, and prevailing cross winds make holding the short grass difficult; from there, approaches of roughly 150 to 200 yards remain, and par is a solid result. Elsewhere, pines on the left of one opening tee shot punish wayward drives, while another hole is less tricky than it is simply long, with out of bounds left tempting players to bail out right and face an awkward chip.
