Lincoln Valley Golf

Lincoln Valley Golf traces its origins to 1973, when a group of local Jaycees began looking into the possibility of securing land for a course in the West Marshall area. In May 1976, the Gutekunst Public Library Board agreed to lease 80 acres roughly a mile and a half east of State Center for the project.

Finding water proved to be the largest obstacle. During the summer of 1977, no natural source could be located that would supply the volume a golf course requires, and the town of State Center ultimately agreed to provide it. Construction began in July 1977 under Midwest Irrigation, the water line to State Center was laid that September, and the bridges spanning the creek that runs through the property were finished in November.
