About Brooks Golf

Brooks Golf sits among the Iowa Great Lakes in Okoboji. Val Brooks built the original 18-hole course in 1932, and it drew exhibition matches featuring players such as Sam Snead, Walter Hagen and Babe Didrikson Zaharias, along with the Iowa Open. The course continues to host the Dakota Tour Okoboji Open Pro-Am as well as corporate and charity fundraising outings.

The parkland layout expanded to 27 holes in 1999, which helps keep tee times available and play moving. Fairways are bent grass, and the property includes wildlife habitat and conservation areas; Brooks has held certification through Audubon International since 2003.
