Council Bluffs Country Club
About Council Bluffs Country Club
Council Bluffs Country Club traces its roots to the Council Bluffs Rowing Association, formed in 1887, which ran the property until 1928, when it was known simply as "The Country Club." The Elks Club bought the grounds in 1948, built a nine-hole golf course, and operated it until 1970.
That year the property was reorganized as Lakeshore Country Club, a private, member-owned club. A second nine was added, creating the 18-hole championship layout played today. It remains a private club in Council Bluffs.
