About Cedar Pointe Golf Course
Cedar Pointe Golf Course is an 18-hole layout in Boone, Iowa, made up of two distinctly different nines. The original nine was laid out in the classic style of the early 1900s and is believed to be among the oldest golf holes in Iowa, while the back nine was added nearly a century later in a more modern design.
Mature trees line every hole on the front nine, placing a premium on shot shaping. With just two water hazards and seven bunkers, low scores there depend largely on accurate driving and a sharp short game.

The back nine opens up considerably, with most of its trees less than 15 years old, so tree trouble is far less of a factor. In their place are a greater number of bunkers and water hazards, along with out-of-bounds running alongside many holes. The contrast between the two nines gives the round an unusual character.
