Makai Golf Course
About Makai Golf Course
Part of the Princeville Resort on Kauai's north shore, the Makai Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1971, with a redesign by the same architect completed in 2009. The par-72 layout routes past quiet lakes, native woodlands and dramatic coastline, with views toward Bali Hai and Hanalei Bay. Six sets of tees stretch the course beyond 7,200 yards.
The renovation brought seashore paspalum turf to all fairways and greens, reconfigured greens complexes and surrounds, and reshaped every bunker. The signature 7th plays 213 yards from the back tees, with a tee shot carrying over coastal cliffs to a green ringed by white sand and framed by mountain and ocean scenery.
