Spring Hill Country Club
About Spring Hill Country Club
Spring Hill Country Club sits in Tifton, Georgia, and its story is closely tied to the agricultural and turf-growing history of Tift County, an area that became a center for turfgrass research and management. The land was once owned by Jack Wright and held a natural spring behind what is now the fifth green. Known as Murrow Springs, the site served as a gathering spot in the early 1900s, where local families came to picnic, swim and socialize.

A group of local golfers organized as The Tifton Country Club and incorporated in June 1941 to create a recreational facility for private members, built off Kaletown Road on ground now occupied by a church campground, state offices and retirement housing.
By the early 1960s members were pressing for a larger property with a full 18-hole course and additional amenities. Planning meetings held between 1963 and 1965 led to the club's move and expansion.
